make the lance pet a reward from another source

Like the tentacles, the summoned lance from this item would have to no longer be able to attack to become a Toy. If a pet isn’t the way to go, they could also create a Toy (also as an additional quest reward or from another source) that displays the lance model in your hand from limited amount of time. It would appear as though you had an Alliance Lance in your hand, just without having to equip one.
